VN: Tell me some things you love about your book.
H.C. Brown: The characters. This story came from David’s muse. I love working with his characters they have so many interesting facets.
VN: Plotter or Pantser?
H.C. Brown: Pantser. I must have been an explorer in my last life. I just set sail and go where the wind takes me.
VN: Describe yourself in four words.
H.C. Brown. Diverse, driven, compulsive, blonde.
VN: Tell us about your favorite character you’ve written.
H.C. Brown: In Sea Games? I loved Joe Harrison the cute gay bodyguard. The next book , Night Games, is about him and it’s a comedy romance.
VN: Cute gay bodyguard in a comedy romance? I’m definitely looking forward to that one! If your city were about to be destroyed, and (after saving family/pets/BFF) you only have enough room for a shoe box full of stuff in your vehicle, what goes in the box?
H.C. Brown : USB Drive. I’m like Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory, never leave home without my zip drive. Passport, Money, Toothbrush, clean undies and my teddy bear.
VN: If you could visit any fictional setting, where would go? Why?
H.C. Brown: Avatar world . . . .I live there anyway.
VN: What’s your favorite part of a book to write? (beginning, first kiss, love scenes, black moment, ending?)
H.C. Brown: The End.
VN: I can definitely agree with that. There is something so satisfying about finishing a book! Okay, back to the beginning: Prologues, yay or nay?
H.C. Brown: It depends on the story. If the book is in a series it might be necessary to avoid unnecessary backstory.
VN: Epilogues, yay or nay?
H.C. Brown: I like to use these, if the story needs a six months or so later finish to tie up loose ends.
